2013, PART DEUX

Sometime in the last five years I plucked this comment off a friend's blog and onto a sticky note. I continually wish I would have recorded it's author to give he or she due recognition. This gentle truth has breathed serene acceptance and confidence through my veins when I've felt painful uncertainty.

"Just know there are no wrong choices. Everything is neutral, and it's up to you in the present moment to determine the quality attached to any experience or situation."

  1. I really like this! Thank you. I've been struggling with such horrid indecision over whether or not to go to Korea.

I've been out of college 2 years, still jobless, although I did some travelling in Latin America and am now a full time AmeriCorps volunteer Teacher @ a school. THis year I actively applied and crossed my fingers for a Fulbright Scholarship to teach in Spain, and applied to a Teaching credential program as a backup. I didn't get the Spain scholarship but I got into the program & have all of the prereqs good to go.

Korea has been tugging at my mind though, even though everythings set for the credetnial program I've been considering dumping it and going for it in Korea. I ended up going with the teaching credential program because it's good timing to do it & I have a place to stay the following year. If I went to Korea i'd have to put off the program for 2 years and would not be able to go back home (more people are moving into my family's house, so no room for me to conjure post Korea plans and reapply to the credential program).

I decided to get the credential under my belt and apply to the EPIK program for afterward! I really hope that I make teaching abroad happen even though now is not the right time--so I am really going to make an effort to "be all there" and cut out the uncertainty, when all in all I think I would have gone back and forth & felt uncertain with whatever decision I had made!

Glad you had a nice time in Korea and thank you:)

Oh P.S., are you doing EPIK or private school? I was going to apply to private school for this year b/c of not enough time to get everything together, but since i'm putting it off a year I want to apply to EPIK
